Ride-on-dinner

ride-on-dinner
2006 – 2010

A swarm of cyclists led on a slow three course urban meal adventure riding relationships between individual human body, a temporarily collected social body and the body of the city. Over the evening of mobile participatory performance, riders experience simple pleasures in hospitality and local knowledge whilst feeling a link between human-scaled transport systems, food systems and social systems.

Ride-on-dinner events hosted for West Brunswick Sculpture Triennial, Melbourne 2009;  Urban Interior Occupation at Craft Victoria gallery, Melbourne 2008; Transported Conference RMIT University Melbourne 2006; Architecture & Philosophy group, Melbourne 2010. Rider self-organised events using the DIY recipe by Object Galleries Sydney, Youth Food Movement Sydney and more.

Conceived and developed by Mick Douglas, hosted by the Cultural Transports Collective.  Further information: project website
